Dr. Mary Elizabeth (“M.E.”) Luka (she/they) is Principal Investigator and Co-Director of the Creative Labour Critical Futures (CLCF: https://creativelabourcriticalfutures.ca/) Cluster of Scholarly Prominence, and Associate Professor, Arts & Media Management, at University of Toronto. She examines critical ethical approaches to research and activating the potential for creative workers to generate transformative technological, social/cultural, and creative futures in the age of Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Luka is an expert in research-creation, arts-based, community-engaged, and walking methods and an award-winning digital media producer. They have worked with over 100 cultural organizations on sector and strategic transformations and cultural policy. Luka has co-edited special issues for Imaginations Journal of Cross-Cultural Image Studies; Qualitative Inquiry; Culture and Local Governance; and Information, Communication and Society. Previous research is found in the above journals and in ESSACHESS: Journal for Communication Studies; Canadian Journal of Communication; Canadian Theatre Review; Public; Social Media & Society; Environment and Planning E: Nature and Space; Artivate: A Journal of Entrepreneurship in the Arts; scholarly anthologies; and through commissioned reports for the Department of Canadian Heritage.
